Creative Gourmet Inc. was started by Chef Lyle Kennedy and his wife Laura. They began at the Farmers Market in Medicine Hat, AB in 2005 by selling their delicious squares and giving out their menus and talking with the public. Creative Gourmet has found their neiche within the food industry by serving fresh quality food with fine dining service. Lyle Kennedy first started cooking at age of 13 and began his Chefs apprenticeship at the age of 16 in the small tourist town of Smithers, BC. He completed his first year training in Victoria, BC at Comosun College. An opportunity to transfer his apprenticship to the Calgary Petroleum Club under Culinary Team Canada Memeber Chef Yoshi Chubachi, could not be turned down. While working at the members only private club he finished his remaining 2 years training at SAIT, enrolled in a Culinary Exchange to Paris France, competed and received a Gold Medal in a Culinary Arts Salon and moved on to another private club; The Ranchman's Club. Here Lyle credits gaining confidence and experience in hot food preparations. He then moved to Medicine Hat for a Sous Chef position and then started Creative Gourmet Inc. with his wife Laura. |
